"Many Knives by Many Makers"

Louis Mills

This Louis Mills Tanto was recently polished, where the surface was refined with jizuya and then very lightly etched with a mild lemon juice blend to bring all of the activity of the hitatsura hamon to light.

The blade has an incredibly tight hada, profuse nie, nioi, great depth of detail and color, and is just gorgeous. If you're not familiar with Mr. Mills' work, it is some of the finest Japanese-style bladework in the West. Louis smelts his own steel and gets incredible activity in his hamon. His blades have identical properties to traditionally made nihonto.

Based on a Muromachi-era piece, the mounts were designed by Antonio Cejunior and executed by Randy Black.

Tanto Specifications:
Nagasa: 13.25 inches
Motohaba: 1.375 inches
Mune thickness: .25 inches
Nakago: 4.5 inches

Mountings:
Habaki: Satin-finished brass
Seppa: Polished brass
Fuchi: Buffalo horn
Kashira: Tiger’s eye gemstone

Tsuka:
Silk overlay/wrap

While fully functional, this is a completely artistic mounting designed to complement the blade.

The price for this magnificent Tanto is $4300.00, shipping and insurance in the USA is free. Payment out of the USA is by PayPal ONLY, and shipping and insurance will be quoted.
